Built for Remote, Ready for Anywhere.
Solving Sewage for Off-Grid Sites
One thing that becomes clear when you work in industries like mining, agriculture, eco-tourism and remote community management is that the standard infrastructure playbook doesn't always apply. Mains connections that cities take for granted simply don't exist in many of the places these industries operate, and that creates a long list of challenges, with sewage treatment sitting near the top.
The conventional solution has often been to install a basic septic system and hope for the best. The problem is that basic systems aren't designed for the conditions remote sites actually face: fluctuating usage loads, limited access to maintenance professionals, compliance requirements that apply regardless of postcode, and the very real operational risk of being hours from the nearest qualified technician when something goes wrong.
HYDROS was built with exactly these challenges in mind.
A system designed to go where others can't
HYDROS' compact, modular design means it can be installed in virtually any location. Rather than requiring purpose-built infrastructure from the ground up, HYDROS can be fitted to an existing septic tank or designed and deployed as a fully standalone sewage treatment system, with minimal site disturbance during installation and no requirement for major civil works or lengthy construction timelines.
For a mine site operating in a remote location or an eco-tourism resort set in protected bushland, the ability to install a high-performing sewage treatment system without significant excavation or disruption to daily operations is a genuine advantage.
The system is also built to handle the kind of load variations that come with remote and seasonal operations. Whether your site runs at low capacity for most of the year and surges during peak periods, or processes consistently high volumes throughout, HYDROS is engineered to manage fluctuations without compromising treatment performance.

Compliance, wherever you are
One of the most persistent challenges for remote and off-grid sites is meeting government and council regulations around waste and sewage management. These requirements don't disappear because a site is far from the nearest town, and the consequences of non-compliance are just as serious regardless of location.
HYDROS is fully compliant with all government and council regulations, and designed to stay that way. Its future-proof design anticipates regulatory change, meaning operators aren't just meeting today's standards. They're protected against tomorrow's as well. For project managers, site operators and environmental compliance teams, that removes a significant layer of ongoing uncertainty.
Monitoring and support without the need for on-site expertise
One of the most practical challenges of managing a remote site is the cost and logistics of maintaining specialised infrastructure. Having a qualified sewage treatment technician available on-site at all times simply isn't viable for most operations in remote locations.
HYDROS addresses this through two built-in systems and a plug-and-play approach to hardware. The WATCHDOG monitoring system continuously tracks every component and flags anything that needs attention, with results uploaded automatically for external analysis. ROBOLAB, Aubin's proprietary remote-access water quality laboratory, gives site operators and the Aubin engineering team real-time access to treatment data from anywhere in the world. Together, they allow issues to be identified and often resolved remotely before they affect operation.
On the hardware side, every component runs in pairs, so if one fails the system switches to its backup and keeps running. Components are also designed to be replaced rather than repaired: a failed pump is swapped out for a spare held on-site, restoring the pair. As a result, maintenance tasks that do require on-site attention can be carried out by any member of your existing team, without specialist training.

Scalable by design
Remote and off-grid operations don't always stay the same size. A mine site might expand its workforce. A rural resort might add accommodation. A remote community might grow. HYDROS' fully modular design means the system scales to meet increasing demand without replacing existing infrastructure. Additional modules can be added as output requirements grow, making it a long-term investment that develops alongside your operation.
More than treatment
For sites with agricultural land, land regeneration projects, or even lawns and gardens nearby, HYDROS offers an additional benefit through Scarce Resource Recovery. During the treatment process, HYDROS re-captures essential nutrients and minerals that would otherwise be lost, storing them in the treated water it produces. That treated water can then be used to support soil and plant health, turning what was once a waste stream into a productive resource. For remote communities and rural operations with an interest in sustainable land and water use, this is a capability that sets HYDROS in a category of its own.
